Tioman Ferry

So your friends have been waxing lyrically about Malaysia's famed paradise island, Pulau Tioman, and you're now planning to head to Tioman yourself. Yes, Tioman is just a stone's throw away from the original Expedition Robinson island, the location for the European reality tv show based on Survivor.

And yes, Tioman truly is a paradise island. Gorgeous crystal clear sea water? Check. Coconut trees galore, fronds waving in a breeze? Check. Idyllic white sandy beaches? Check.

Tioman ticks all the boxes of a perfect blissful getaway. And a few extra ones for good measure. Tioman's lush emerald jungle as exotic backdrop and its "old-world" innocence and charm, to mention just two. Tioman is a veritable paradise found that you won't soon forget.

But Tioman is more than just a sight for sore eyes. Tioman is also a suitable location for having fun in the sun, as well as all kinds of activities, both waterborne and land-based. Want to snorkel, scubadive, kayak, SUP, go fishing? All are readily available. Keen to go for a jungle-trek, discover Rafflesia perhaps? Or explore the waterfalls that Tioman's jungle offers? Just contact your hotel reception. They will set you up in a jiffy.

The road less travelled

Whilst Tioman may not be the most accessible dream island in the world, it isn't hard to get there by any stretch. A bus from KL or Singapore will have you in Mersing in a couple of hours. Once in Mersing, just hop on the Tioman ferry. But best book your ferry tickets beforehand, because you may run into a full ferry otherwise.

Lastly, Tioman's peak season is . November to February is the rainy season.
